My name is Shavonne. I grew up in rural BC, moved around a few times, and then ended up going to school in Kamloops, also in BC. Friends call me Shavs. Acquaintances usually mispronounce my name (but that’s ok).
I earned my pilot’s license in 2015, completing my flight training alongside a wonderful instructor – now husband – in a ‘ol trusty C152.
In 2017, my husband and I drove out of the province, myself armed with a commercial muli-IFR license, and we haven’t looked back since.
How about present day? Well, I am a captain on the Metroliner 2 and 3 for a cargo operation in Western Canada. I’m pretty happy. This is what I was meant to do all along.
